There are prices we must pay,
And routes that become our way;
But I wish today
To be the tree that does not sway.
And even if death is nigh,
Even if I end up falling in the sky,
Even ended with a sigh,
My hopes and dreams forever will be high.
And I shan't let waves break me
I shan't dance for everyone to see.
I hope one day to grasp the key
That opens the door and lets me be.
I dream, I sweat, I scream, I pray
I hope to God I do not sway
But I'd lie and kill anyday
If only you could stay.
As under your hand I lay
Knowing that I'll act your way
Pushed by uniformity's deforming ray
I wished you loved me anyway.
